Norway Open 2019 went back home to Stavanger this year after a very successful visit to Lofoten 2 years ago. This event is part of the FAI World Cup and Eurotour Contest.
Organizing the event in Stavanger area is a bit easier than doing it in the far North. We got pilots from 7 nations this time.
We did not have luck with the weather this year. Low wind is not what you want when hosting a F3F event, mixed with some rain did not make it better. But the pilots did not seem to worry to much and they all did their best during the difficult conditions.
We managed 6 rounds and it was quite clear that Siggi Schedel(Pitbull 2) did very well from the beginning as did Søren Krogh(Device). Eventually Markus Meissner(NEO) climbed to 3rd spot after 3 rounds and stayed there throughout the race. Both Martin Eggert and Arjen van Vark had a sniff at the podium in the beginning but ended outside the top 3. Perhaps Arjen was the most unfortunate when he did not hear the signal properly in round 3 ending up flying 12 laps.
